Corus Entertainment in conjunction with its three radio affiliates, Variety 104.5, Classic Rock 101.9 and Oldies 1220 the Jewel, will host an exciting 13-hour 'Radiothon" simulcast. The event will take place on Friday, February 24th, 2006 at Cornwall Square.
"Corus Entertainment has generously offered to host the 'Radio-thon' as part of their tremendous support of the Our Hospital, Our Future fund raising campaign," reports Gail Kaneb, Campaign Co-Chair. "We are delighted with their participation and we are looking forward to a great response from our very generous community."
As part of that support, Corus will launch the 'Corus Cares Our Hospital Our Future Radio-thon' as a way of reaching out to the community at large. "There may be thousands of local residents who have been waiting for an opportunity to contribute," notes Corus Entertainment's General Manager, Scott Armstrong. "On the 24th, Corus will open the phone lines and invite listeners to make their donations to the hospital project."
The 'Corus Cares Our Hospital Our Future Radio-thon' will broadcast from Cornwall Square Friday, February 24th beginning at 6:00 a.m. and conclude at 7 p.m. All three Corus stations will substitute regular feature music programming with informative hospital featurettes, exclusive interviews, special guests and more.
Local celebrities will be on hand to answer the phones and take caller pledges. Donations will also be accepted, in person at Cornwall Square, and at the Corus Entertainment Studios - 237 Water Street East.
