The Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation, along with Bell, today announced a collective $80,000 contribution - $50,000 from Bell and $30,000 from community donations- to the Cornwall Community Hospital to purchase much needed equipment.
"We’re pleased to be given this opportunity to combine community donations with Bell’s $50,000 contribution to purchase a portable Ultra Sound machine," said Connie Vardy of the Hospital Foundation. "Bell's donation will not only support our staff in ensuring they provide patients with the best care possible, but will improve the overall patient experience."
The portable piece of equipment, used specifically for neo-natal imaging will improve the quality of care for expectant mothers in labour. The device will help our medical staff assess the condition of an unborn baby during labour such as determining if the baby is in breach position, or if there are any complications before delivery without inconveniencing the mother.
"Bell is committed, as a company and as a team of individual employees, to be engaged in the communities we serve,” said Jim Neubauer, General Manager, Eastern Ontario, Bell Aliant. “This donation is about being more than a benefactor for the Hospital; it is about being a partner that can make a meaningful difference in the community.”
