Set The Date! 2007 Dreams Do Come True

Cornwall, Ontario, October, 17th 2007-. Mark your calendars and set the date because it’s that time of year again. The Dreams Do Come True Annual Wine and Cheese and Silent Auction is scheduled for November 24th at NAV CANADA.

A festive event, this evening has been the kick-off to the holiday season and this year is no different! With an ambitious goal, the organizing committee is confident in their abilities to raise over $50,000 towards the purchase of a new ventilator. An invaluable piece of equipment, ventilators assist or replace spontaneous breathing when patients cannot do so on their own. In many cases, mechanical ventilation is used in acute settings such as in the CCU for a short period of time during a serious illness. The particular Ventilator the Dreams Do Come True committee hopes to purchase is the newest technology available with the ability to assist patients as small as 500 grams!

The acquisition of this equipment will save lives and directly impact the quality of care available to our smallest patients.

The Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation is grateful for the hard work and determination exhibited by the committee. Together the committee members have collected sponsorships and silent auction gifts. Entirely supported by local merchants, volunteers and donors alike, this fabulous evening is a true testimonial of what can happen when the community rallies together for a great cause!
