The highly anticipated Dreams Do Come True Wine and Cheese fundraising event took place on Saturday November 24th at NAV CANADA. A festive event, the Wine & Cheese and Silent Auction continues to be a great way to kick-off to the holiday season for many local residents. Over 400 guests attended this fabulous evening in support of our local hospital enjoying a selection of wines, beer and sumptuous foods while mingling with friends, acquaintances and neighbours, all for an important community cause.
A huge success, this year’s event raised a record $50,632.00 to benefit the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation. “We are proud of our community and truly amazed each year with the continual support this event receives from many individuals and business organizations who donate so generously to this event.” noted Cathy Malyon, event Co-Chair. “We are fortunate to have so many patrons and local organizations who kindly support our fundraising event and truly make our Dream Come True.” added Bev Lapointe, event Co-Chair.
The committee had an ambitious fundraising goal this year of raising much needed funds to help purchase a new Ventilator for our hospital. “We’re overwhelmed by the dedication the organizing committee has exhibited as a Ventilator is an invaluable piece of equipment in our department. It helps replace or assist spontaneous breathing when our patients cannot do so on their own.” said Tracey Bradley, Respiratory Therapist. “We’re especially pleased with this fundraiser as the particular Ventilator the Dreams Do Come True committee will purchase offers the newest technology available, able to help patients as small as 500 grams!” added Amanda Lajoie, Respiratory Therapist
The acquisition of this equipment will save lives and directly impact the quality of care available to even the smallest Cornwall Community Hospital patients.
“Congratulations to everyone who helped ensure the success of this fundraising event, and a huge thank you to those who attended, sponsored and supported this wonderful evening in support of our hospital and the acquisition of a new Ventilator. Together, anything is possible!” Says Roy Perkins, CCH Foundation Chair.
