- Q- Where do I send my donation?

- Q- Will my gift qualify as a charitable donation for income tax?
Yes, the CCHF is a registered charity and issues receipts for all donations. We accept cash, cheques, and credit card donations and give receipts for all gifts.
- Q- Why should I make a donation?
As a donor to the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation you can make a measurable impact in the lives of others in our region.
Your gift will help purchase new medical equipment and technology for the hospital, it will help to reduce wait times, enable less invasive treatments, allow for faster recoveries and could even save a life!
- Q- Doesn't government funding take care of the hospitals and their equipment needs?
A large percentage of our tax dollars are spent on healthcare and rising every year, yet the government does not pay for new medical equipment. It has always been the responsibility of the community to pay for this equipment. As such, the Foundation assists the hospital to fundraise for expensive equipment. This is why we seek your support - to help ensure quality healthcare remains in our community.
- Q- How will new equipment help us to recruit doctors?
Recruiting and retaining top health care professionals at all levels is becoming an increasing challenge for all hospitals, especially in rural settings. Recruitment and retention is about offering a quality work setting and up-to-date equipment to deliver the best possible patient care. Having the best tools and newest technology allows professionals to do their very best for patients and practice their considerable skills.
- Q- Can I direct my gift to support a specific program or area of interest?
Absolutely. We understand that you may have had a personal experience or reason to support a particular area within the hospital. If you wish to designate your gift please contact the Foundation at foundation@cornwallhospital.ca or call, (613) 930-4508. We can help ensure your gift can be put to work where a need exists. All undesignated gifts go to the area of greatest need.

- Q- How can I be assured my personal information will not be traded or sold to another group/organization?
Our donor information is confidential and not traded or sold to anyone. Donor information is used for Foundation fundraising purposes only. Online Giving
- Q- Can I make my gift Online?
Yes, many people find online donations more convenient and we encourage you to give this way; online donations can be made by filling out the form by clicking here.
- Q- How secure are online donations?
Your privacy is very important to us and it's something we take very seriously. Experts have established that using your credit card online is as safe as using your card in any other way. Your credit card number is secured and sent directly to the Foundation. The information is encrypted and only the Foundation can read it.
Monthly Giving
- Q- Why do people choose to make monthly gifts?
Monthly gifts offer many benefits including convenience and the ability to make a big impact through smaller donations spread throughout the year.
- Q- How do I use my chequing account to make monthly gifts?
To make a monthly gift using your chequing account simply send us a blank cheque marked VOID. Also let us know how much you'd like to donate and whether you'd like your payments to come out of your account on the 1st or the 15th of each month. That's it!
Your gifts will automatically be withdrawn from your bank account each month. The only reason you'll need to contact us is to change your banking information, change the amount you'd like to donate or cancel your donations.
Commemorative Giving
- Q- How do I make a donation in memory of a friend or family member?
Memoriam donations can be made online by mail or in- person. When you donate online you will be asked if you are making your contribution in honour of a loved one. Simply complete this section of the online form and we'll take care of the rest.
When mailing a donation, please enclose a note along with your cheque that includes the name of the person being remembered. If you would also like us to notify someone about your gift, such as the honouree's spouse or parent, please include that person's name and address. The amount of your contribution will remain confidential.
- Q- Does the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation advise families about memorial or tribute gifts made in their loved one's honour?
Yes. Many donors choose to make a memorial, tribute or special occasion gift. When a donation is made, we send out a personalized card to the family or individual that is being honoured - to acknowledge your generous donation.
- Q- When an "in memory" of or "in honour" of donation is made, is the donation amount disclosed to the family?
No, We keep the details about your gift strictly confidential unless you request otherwise. The family is only notified of your generosity.
