Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Wallaceburg Site Emergency Department Entrance Reopens
CHATHAM-KENT: December 1, 2022 — Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) is pleased to announce that the Wallaceburg Site Emergency Department entrance has reopened as of December 1, 2022 at 10 a.m.
All patients and families visiting the Wallaceburg Site Emergency Department are now able to resume parking in the Emergency Department parking lot and are asked to enter through the Emergency Department entrance, which can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via Dora Drive. All patients and visitors accessing Diagnostic, Medicine, Ambulatory Care, Victorian Order of Nurses (VON), and Rapid Access to Addiction Medicine (RAAM) services are advised to continue using the main entrance doors facing Margaret Avenue. Patients and visitors using these services may continue using the front parking lot. The main entrance doors are open from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. Between 6 p.m. – 6 a.m., all patients and visitors must enter the hospital through the Emergency Department entrance doors.
As part of the organization’s Replacement Power Plant Project at this site, the Emergency Department entrance and waiting room were closed to allow for renovations to connect the new power plant to the existing facility. As part of that work, the Emergency Department waiting room was updated with an enlarged space.
“We’re pleased to complete these renovations and provide an updated waiting area for our patients and their families,” said Lori Marshall, President and CEO, CKHA. “With the recent completion of our Replacement Power Plant Project at this site, and as we prepare to submit our Stage 2 Functional Plan documents to the Ministry of Health later this month, we continue to set the stage for our comprehensive redevelopment plan of this site.”
CKHA wishes to thank its patients, families, visitors, staff and physicians for their patience as this construction took place.
