Sydenham District Hospital Auxiliary Pledges $100,000 to CKHAF Wallaceburg Site Redevelopment Fund
WALLACEBURG, July 4th, 2024 – Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF) is thrilled to announce a $100,000 pledge from the Sydenham District Hospital Auxiliary, in support of the Our Hospital, Our Future Wallaceburg Site Redevelopment Project. This very generous pledge will have a profound impact on Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s (CKHA) Wallaceburg site, equipping the hospital to better meet the needs of healthcare delivery today and into the future.
“This generous pledge is a testament to the hard work of all these wonderful volunteers, and to the Auxiliary’s unwavering dedication to advancing healthcare in the Wallaceburg community,” stated Christine Mitchell, CKHAF President & CEO. “This support means the world to our Foundation as we continue to raise funds in support of this $9 million campaign to cover the community’s local share of this crucial project that will have such a profound impact on the healthcare landscape here in Wallaceburg.”
The Auxiliary made their first contribution towards this $100,000 pledge with a $35,000 installment paid on June 24th. Volunteers were joined by Foundation representatives at CKHA’s Wallaceburg site for a special cheque presentation to commemorate this historic pledge.
“We have a small and mighty group of volunteers who are passionate about this community and hospital,” said Mari Cole, Auxiliary Chair. “We are proud to support such a worthy cause and look forward to a bright future for local healthcare here in Wallaceburg.”
Established in 1957, the Sydenham District Hospital Auxiliary’s mission is to enhance patient care through various fundraising efforts and volunteer activities. The Auxiliary operates the Serendipity Gift Shop at CKHA’s Wallaceburg Site, and the organization has a long history of supporting Foundation and hospital initiatives to help improve healthcare outcomes for our local community.
“We can’t say enough about the generosity of the Auxiliary and all of the wonderful volunteers who have worked so hard to make this pledge possible,” stated Melissa Hunter, CKHAF Director of Development. “This marks a significant milestone for the Our Hospital, Our Future campaign, bringing us closer to our goal of creating a modern, efficient, and welcoming healthcare facility that will serve the needs of Wallaceburg residents for years to come.”
